Sadly Israel has never followed any of the basic norms of international law, possibly because the west or most of it, refuse to criticise Israel in any way, shape or form.

I am truly sorry once again Syria has had to pay the price because of this.

Who are the people of Israel? I was raised to love Israel -- it was the land of the Commandments, of Torah, of Talmud. No righteous Jew would wage a war against non-combatants, or any war - unless their lives were threatened. Syria had Christians, Jews and many faiths living peacefully at one time. My conclusion is sadly that Israelis are not faithful -- they are secular racists and murderers. Welfare from the States and easy living has made their souls hard. American leadership has drunk from the same cup -- hopefully change is coming

Syria is going to have to up its air defense capability. Israel will not stop until it pays a price.

Syria has been fighting a multiple front war for 13 years. While it is currently not a hot war Syria is occupied by hostile entities in the north-west, north, north-east, east and south/south-east. It is under some of the most barbaric sanctions that actually prevent any country coming to its assistance economically, its resources are fully occupied in the north-west, north and north-east. It is still infested by US/UK alliance-trained terrorist groups including ISIS whose attacks have increased since 7/10. Syria is simply not in a position to escalate to a new direct war front against Israel at this juncture. Syria has, however, opened its territory to the non-state Resistance factions to carry out attacks from Syrian soil - this results in the Israeli aggression. Syria has S300 not yet used in anger because to do so would lead to Zionist attacks on their positions. Syria will respond according to their timescale not the Zionist one which would prefer escalation now while Syria is still vulnerable.

Thanks for your response. I didn't know about the S300. I don't pretend to understand the politics there. I know the US won't leave., and the connection to ISIS from MCCain days. I know Russia has a presence there but I'm not sure exactly what the role is. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I feel bad for the country. The people seem to be buffeted between west and the Arab world.

Thank you for your continual coverage of events which impact the region and the people, but which almost invariably go uncovered by the American MSM.
