Actually what l thought you might object to is my opposition to a ceasefire, which would prolong the suffering of the people of Gaza. No harm done. No damage my end. Are you for a truce, or should we go at it for another round?
Sorry Vanessa. Blew the one-time connection. Have to try again. You might not agree with this, I wrote recently………
“ I. Believe the only solution for the near Middle East is that Israel as a state must be removed. The Palestinians should get ALL their land back. Those Jews that want to stay must make their peace with the Palestinians, and accept a Palestinian government. A two-state solution is racist, since it compels the Palestinians to accept only partial return of their land, and rewards Zionist settler colonialism with a portion of the land that they drove the Palestinians off.
So the war must go on until Israel loses and the state dissolved. Everything , BDS, Resistance, everything must be kept up until this happens. A ceasefire would preserve the state of Israel. It is important that the resistance continue until those Zionists who have dual passports, or believe that Israel is no longer a place where they can feel safe, should leave. The Palestinians who live in refugee camps outside Palestine should be allowed to return and claim the land that most still hold the deeds to. It’s not optimal, but we have to fix this.”
Of course the notion of not having a ceasefire is hard to accept, and is, in a way, consigning those in Gaza to a horrible death. But l don’t see any way around it. If Israel survives, it will just prolong the agony. I guess this removes me from your good books before l got into them.
Your comment suggests that I have not been saying this for 12 years since I first spent time in Gaza and then 8 years working and living in the region? Ceasefire is a ridiculous term suggesting two equal sides in a war which is obviously not the case. I have always argued total withdrawal of IOF , a no fly zone and an end to the blockade etc. However, ultimately the Resistance Axis should support Palestinian self determination and sovereignty 🙏
I suggest nothing. I don’t know what your stand is. I don’t know what you have been saying for the past 12 years. Sorry for the offence, even if it is unintended.
I didn't take offence. Just surprised that you might think I would be in disagreement with what you wrote considering my stance for years. My bad for assuming that you had followed me previously.
A great article. Insightful comparison in conclusion.
Thank you!
I agree. More insights into the US client states in the region. Thank you.
