I honestly don't believe that Hamas as ever used civilians as human shields. These are strong men who wouldn't stoop to such cowardly acts, which is more than I can say for a lot of Western countries or those supported by the West. It's the identical trope that Ukraine put out about the Russians starting back in February 2022, it's a script. Everything we are guilty of, reverse it onto the enemy you are afraid of.
It is breaking my heart seeing the scenes coming out of Gaza but my heartbreak and tears are nothing compared to the people going through this.
It is with utter disgust I watch clips of the UK government offering their support to Israel and not showing one iota of compassion towards Gaza, I didn't think my contempt for them could increase after their behaviour over the Ukraine/Russia. I was badly wrong, it still had plenty of growing room.
I wish for Palestine to be free once again, to walk where they want and do what they want. None of this humanitarian pause, makes me think of death row, you get to choose whatever you want for your last meal, that'll make your execution feel much nicer.
But I shake my head in sadness knowing the Palestinians are going to suffer more, Hamas or no Hamas.
Tbh even IF there were evidence of Hamas genuinely using "human shields" Israel still has a responsibility under international law to avoid civilian casualties.

True enough but like nearly every other "noble global " institution, their laws and rules only apply to the West or any country aligned with them.
