Vanessa. You and many of the well informed Middle East commentators that you talk to say this is an Arab issue. I disagree and believe all the Arab factions (and others like the Jordanians) are just protecting their own self interests. Here is why I think you are completely wrong on this.

Iran has shown that they have excellent air defense having just foiled the Israeli attempt at bombing Iran. The have previously shown that they can strike Israel despite all their air defence systems. Every informed commentator says that Iran has an excellent armaments design and manufacturing industry.

Despite all this, the Iranians watch every day, another 15, 20, or 30 Palestinian children murdered. We know they (the Iranians) have religious and ethical constraints on non-military targets, yet they have failed to take any action to destroy Israel's oil pipelines and ports, any military airfields, and all but a handful of their air defence systems. So much for "Arab issue".

Meanwhile, the Egyptians allow the ship to dock containing armaments for Israel. Let's not forget their dealing with the Raffa crossing for as many years as I can remember. So much for "Arab issue".

The Quatari's Aljazeera continues with Hamas 'hostages' yet Israel takes 'prisoners'. Every day Aljazeera reports x number of Palestinians killed, instead of ANOTHER x Palestinians killed. So much for "Arab issue".

Finally, in your own words, "The Gulf states have not broken off relations with Israel". So much for "Arab issue".

Iranians are Persians, not Arabs. Despite this, no country has done more to support the Resistance other than perhaps Syria on a logistic and supply basis. I did explain a lot of the complexity regarding the Arab nations including Gulf States, Egypt, Jordan. I have also written about it extensively.
